Artwork Description

This painting has a deep spiritual symbology. The vast ocean represents the unconscious mind and depicts the state of emotions. A rising storm denotes unexpressed fears, with an overwhelming struggle against loss or rapid change. Combined with the limitless ocean and subtle breaks in light, there is a feeling of a positive outlook, of freedom and independence.

In dreams a black horse has an esoteric presence, it is a messenger of the occult and expresses the strength & power you have over your mental well being. It is often a symbol of death but with a mature understanding, embodying new beginnings and absolute freedom.

Acknowledging the symbolic power of dreaming and empowering the viewer with its visual representation, the featured original oil painting was created over approximately 250 hours. First conceptualised in 2019, it was a further six months before its completion in early 2020. It has since then been featured in two exhibitions in the NSW mid North coast, at the Great Lakes Gallery and in the group exhibition 'Daydreaming' at the Gladstone gallery. Measuring at nearly one
metre wide, it is the largest painting in the gStylz original art collection to date.
