Scotchmer Street

In this series based on my own photographs, I transport viewers through Melbourne’s city streets, laying bare the weathered heritage buildings; sneakers over power lines, and other traces of modern life that are often overlooked.
These paintings are created by using aerosol and acrylic paint, and stencils created through photography and digital art. This results in graffiti/impressionism hybrid style works saturated in bold colours and images, making it impossible not to notice all the vibrant, gritty, and uniquely Melbourne life that fills the streets of our city.

This current body of work reveal the many different aspects of our everyday surroundings and turns the mundane into something beautiful and unexpected.
The edges are painted white and is ready to hang.

Geoff Cunningham, is a stencil artist based in Melbourne. Cunningham draws inspiration from urban landscapes, travel, and native Australian birds. I am a stencil artist. I create art that bridges memory and imagination, using stencils as my language. Based in Melbourne, I blend photography, digital design, hand cut stencils and paint to craft scenes that feel both familiar and a little unexpected. My technique is constant, but my subjects shift—each piece layered with hidden details and quiet stories, inviting you to look closer and feel something deeper.
