Currently painting in oils.
I prefer to paint on wood panels as I dislike to movement that occurs when using canvas as the brush presses against the surface.
I make my own panels from marine ply and seal both surfaces and attach a mitred frame to the back to provide rigidity and an edge to the art piece.
The face surface is coved in Gesso in readiness for my painting.
My works are influenced by my past passions of surfing, yachting, and Nature.
I spent the first 40 odd years in country NSW, and the next 20 odd in Sydney with my second wife and 3 children. (Now adults).
For most of my time in Sydney I have owned and enjoyed sailing on Sydney Harbour on one or the other of the two yachts that I have owned in that time.
I explored the harbour and have crewed on race yachts on the harbour and offshore, including several international races.
This experience shows in some of my subject matter and has resulted in commissions for yachts and boats.
