I am inspired by anything Australian. I admire the Australian indigenous culture and particularly the artwork. I did some painting in the seventies while I was in the police force in Victoria. I completed about 30 works and sold them through a local art shop. As I progressed in my police career I did my last painting in 1975. In 2018 43 years later I was having dinner in a restaurant and I saw a mural about 8 meters in length painted by indigenous artist Tommy Crowe. I knew immediately that I needed to start painting again. I spent a Month photographing the scenery, the desert , the deserted areas and the animals. I went as far as Nhulunbuy and when I got back to Numurkah I had enough information to put my ideas on canvas. I started painting emuโs and kangaroos and even camels and buffaloes. Recently I have been painting bigger paintings, big skyโs and subjects like things that I can remember as a child and young man. I like to explore different mediums but my work is mainly acrilic paint. Each of my paintings are unique and painted in my studio in Numurkah. I donโt do prints. I really enjoy producing my art I use good quality paint and canvases. I have sold works all over the world and in all States of Australia. Lately I have been painting wool/ shearing sheds, 65 completed so far.
