Hi, I’m Geoff, a resident of Rockingham, WA, just south of Perth. I’ve always been interested in Art and had a passion for drawing and ceramics from a young age.
But, my parents didn’t share this passion. When, at 15, I told them, “I want to be an artist,“ they both looked aghast and said, “No, that’s not going to happen.” It was the first time I recall my parents agreeing about anything. I remember thinking, ‘I’m screwed.’”
I turned to a trade that was “creative," cheffing. Over the decades I’ve also worked "real jobs" in website development and education, and pursued art in my spare time.
Since moving back to Western Australia, having spent 15 years living in the U.K., I have pursued my life-long love of snorkelling. I’ve spent many hours snorkelling the reef off Point Peron and the Shoalwater Islands where I’ve encountered dolphins, sealions, sharks and rays.
When I wanted to spice up the drab grey walls of my own house, I knew mosaic art was the way to go. Two of my loves: the ocean and art, came together. I have particularly focused on the local sea life and coastal birds to brighten up my home.
I’m now branching out, ready to take on commissions and explore other styles and subjects.
