Wood on wood, ready to hang.

The artwork is made principally from interior plasterboards reclaimed from a 19th century Sydney terrace house, which the artist's research indicates were individually hand hewn, most likely through convict labour. The work is evocative of dry stone walling, with the texture reminiscent of ancient rural shedding. It was a part of the artist's 2018 exhibition " The Archaeology Of Shelter". In a modern setting, the rich texture of the materials stand out vividly, inviting the viewer to run their fingers over the work which, as a bonus, is possible without compromising the quality of the piece.
