Artwork Description

"Kennett River" by Geoff Pike was inspired by the great ocean road region of Victoria. Texture, shades of colour and balance all play a part in creating my paintings. This artwork is completed with a palette knife using professional acrylic paint.

My hope is that this painting brings a sense of peace and harmony to the home where it lives, and that it helps the people who live there feel that part of nature is right there in the room with them.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my work. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this piece or wish to discuss framing options.

Framed images are for display purposes only, supplied as a guide as to how the artwork may look on your wall.

Artist Bio

Born in 1948 and raised in New Zealand my interest in art began when I left school and started work in a frame shop. I later opened a small gallery and through that met my mentor and friend Michael Blow, a professional artist. I have no formal training and am primarily self taught. I am an artist member of the HB art gallery. I moved to Perth Australia in 2011 then on to Melbourne in 2019. Now a full time artist I have time to pursue my lifelong ambition to create affordable art. I am inspired by the vibrant colours of the Australian landscape, most of my work involves water and the visual drama of the constantly changing elements against the costal landscape. The essence of my work is not the water but the mystery behind the depiction of light, and the depth of colour.
