PLEASE NOTE: - These are hand made prints, not "art prints" that are off a computer printer (i.e the inkjet prints known as Giclée which are reproductions of handmade work, usually signed and editioned). This triptych (series of 3 images) titled παππούς ⇒ ∞ (Grandfather to infinity,) was inspired by a dream I had shortly after my mother died. In this dream I died and was consumed by rainbow coloured worms. Normally a dream like this would be filled with dread, but I awoke with a profound sense of peace....for a few short moments death was not a thing to be feared and existence was not individual but universal and infinite. Alas this enlightenment was fleeting and the usual sense of possible futility crowded back in! These images are from a series I did in art school and would look beautiful float mounted in a box frame. Please watch the video attached to this sale to see these works more "in the flesh" and visit me in the bat cave!!! Each print is printed on paper that is 39 cm W and 54 cm H the image copper plate (printed part in each image is 31.5 W X 41 H).

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
George Comninos is a Sydney based artist and lunatic. He paints to build a bridge from the imagination into what normal people term the "real world". The paintings are his illegitimate children, and as he has too many, he now needs to find parents for his indiscriminate libidinous urges! Always wary (and weary) of artists statements written in third person, he has put aside his prejudice towards this pretentious but time honoured art tradition, to let prospective parents know and understand the children they are inviting into their home!
Unfortunately I.....I mean...George doesn't understand the "work", where it comes from and why he makes it, other than to say it emanates from a primal and ineffable place (see I told you this was going to be pretentious). All that can be said, is that the children are all different and come through the artist but are not of him. The offspring emanate as products of the obscure sense of promise lurking behind sublunary existence. Reality imagined or imagination made reality?
Thank you in advance, for adopting this artist's children and making them a treasured part of your family, please click follow so he can be one of the "cool kids" and less of a social pariah (yes it is sad he need this validation but following also means you will be notified of new arrivals!)
Regards
Lunatic Painter
