A quiet moment by the water's edge in County Sligo, Ireland.
In capturing this scene, I was inspired to evoke a feeling of peace and beauty, and even though it's beauty caught in a transient moment, it's beauty remembered.
I painted this piece from a photo I took one night after hearing there was a chance to see the northern lights. We went out in the car to search for a good viewpoint to hopefully see them, and found ourselves down a tiny road leading to this view of the bay. It was so quiet, waiting there, with the lap of the water, looking for any change or movement in the sky. I captured this moment when the sky held a particularly bright and luminous glow due to the solar activity.
