This is a 30x30cm oil painting of exploding fireworks. Using frangipanis from the garden of my studio I stamped both the flowers and the firework spray. To keep the stamp style perfect I used six different flowers. This kept the shape and the colours crisp. To get even coverage for the stamps required using my hands to cover the flowers. The triangular shapes allude to the right angles of the branches of the frangipani tree. The white of the highlight flowers contrasts with the deep purple of the background. This picture, although small, packs an almighty punch.
