Cock of the Rock

This little guy is called Cock of the Rock (not joking this is the actual common name) and he is native to South America. He is such a funny little character with so much sass and I had a ball painting him. You might be wondering where his beak has gone - it's actually hidden in his hair do!
This artwork is part of my latest collection which focuses on endangered birds from around the world to promote the protection of their ecosystems, and the environmental impact caused by humans.

Hi! I'm Georgia Hocking, bird artist and colour enthusiast.

Born and raised in Adelaide, Australia I have been painting as long as I can remember (thanks to my amazing mother who has always supported my creative & wacky side).

My style has been described as expressive, colourful and dynamic. I usually paint how I'm feeling at the time which is reflected on the canvas. I have always drawn my inspiration from nature, especially birds and other animals. I like to capture the unique energy and spirit of my subject.

I like to use all mediums I can get my hands on however my main choice of medium is acrylic, oil pastel and charcoal on canvas.

I'm currently living in Melbourne with my partner Jasper and our furry princess Daisy.
