Artwork Description

In this painting, a figure stands defiant amidst chaos, her stance radiating strength and resilience. The warrior's determined expression and powerful posture convey a sense of being pushed to the brink, yet finding the inner warrior to confront and overcome the overwhelming challenges.

Artist Bio

Geraldine Maddrell grew up in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia, the second youngest of five children, she was a great swimmer from a very young age who spent a lot of time outdoors making mud pies!

Having five children of her own, Geraldine home-schooled her brood for many years, before working as Coordinator for a High School for Students at Risk. Geraldine then spent a couple of years doing aid work in the Philippines before returning to WA, where she built a program to assist people with disabilities to start their own business.

A creative and adventurous person, Geraldine has always found a way to express herself through art and life. “It is only when I have the courage to take risks and venture into the unknown, that I break through my self-imposed limits and am able to create with authenticity” explains Geraldine.

In 2022 Geraldine completed the Mastery Program with the Milan Art Institute. She is represented by the Margaret River Art Studio and continues to sell many artworks through this gallery.

Geraldine uses a variety of mediums i.e. inks, spray paints, oil pastels, acrylics and oil paints. She lays down her first layers with unrestrained enthusiasm, then develops the theme as the layers progress. Her free expression resonates with many art collectors
