This painting evokes memories of fishing trips during my childhood in the Mediterranean South of France. It depicts a tranquil scene of a lone fishing boat anchored in a natural lagoon off the Mediterranean Coast, at the end of a day's fishing. The boat, close to shore, is surrounded by green algae, and fishing nets hung out to dry can be seen in the background.
The feeling is one of calm, rest and fulfillment after the day's catch.
