We used to live in Cairns but now live on the south coast of NSW. A few years ago we decided to go back and travel through the Tablelands. Its amazing up there the colours are so vibrant. I took a photo of this tree going to one of the caves and knew that I had to paint it. I was amazed at this creeper surviving the heat and the harshness of the land and surrounding colours. I painted it using my favourite tool and that's an old credit card.
I am an Illawarra based artist and my background is Interior and graphic design, this is evident in my paintings as I love bright colour, pattern and design. My other passion is in landscape and the freedom that the palette knife/credit card gives plus the use of bright clear colours which are my defining mark. My florals are reminiscent of my graphic background with bold colours and even bolder outlines. I love the challenge of creating artworks using various mediums from inks, acrylics watercolour and the richness of oils.
