Gerry Gibson has been an artistic photographer for some time, using his camera as a
tool to capture images which he transforms using a variety of software programmes.
Gerry now resides on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, moving from Melbourne 5
years ago.
After hearing about the method of taking abstract images while driving
(ICM β Intentional Camera Movement) he experimented while driving on a trip
between Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast.
On this trip Gerry ended up with around 800 images taken out of the window of the
car, (a method not recommended !) as the technique can of course be used without
being in a moving car. He has learned an enormous amount about the technique since that trip.
Gerry's aim is to create interesting images, mainly in colour, which will enhance any
space in which they are placed, and believes that through the use of software, the
opportunity of transforming an image into a piece of art, has no bounds, and he
continues to explore these art forms and tools, including but not limited to the use
of ICM.
