As an artist, one is sensitive to all manner of influences. We see beauty in mundane objects and negative spaces hold our attention just as much as things appearing in space. Life is art. My influences have been across the board. All of the great artists that broke the rules are still vibrant and a steady influence upon the public and artists alike. When painting I enter into a subtle energy filed and I play with color and shapes. How one color will appear to be quite different against various other colors is amazing. There is an intimacy that art invites us to share in. It is as though moods and shades of our psyche are called forth and they become conscious and often delightful...and yet, most of us can't speak about these responses in any detail. It remains intimate and kind of private. As someone famous said "I don't know what art is but I know what I like". Art is fathomless and art expresses itself in ever new ways as time rolls along. Enjoy.
