Largely self taught (whatever that means).
Won a few art competitions in my younger days but the artistic passion got buried under many other pursuits, among them the evil of having to pay mortgages and so I went into the construction industry to work. Because of having to relocate across many countries many times I have lost most of my art work to the bin.
Currently like to explore the relationship between the raw, thick paint and the gentle orderliness of inked chinese calligraphy. Perhaps it's the clash which is interesting or maybe it's just some revenge on my calligraphy teacher from 30 years ago who constantly wanted me to sit straight and put my elbows straight in order to paint. Hurrah!
Used to play a didgeridoo and did a lunch time demo during my uni days. That too got lost and on the lookout for a new one.
