I painted " Forty Shades of Green" during my one month stay in Ireland while I was there doing my artist residency and exhibition in the town of Listowel in June, 2023.

I was so inspired by the endless lush green fields in County Kerry, Ireland. One of my local friend/ art collector there saw my painting and share with me that Johnny Cash also wrote a song "Forty Shades of Green" to praise the fields in Ireland . Hence the title of this painting.

Ireland is a magical place. I painted this painting in an abstract way so the audience can feel as they are there to experience the depth of the endless fields in various green shades with Golden sunlight shine upon them!

The painting will be framed in a box frame and ready to hang.

Horse is my favourite animal. I love how elegant and powerful they are. Often I will go to the horse races or horse club to observe how they move and sketch them closely. This painting was inspired by the horse race in Listowel, Ireland. I was in Ireland doing my one month artist residency as well as preparing my art exhibition there in June, 2023. I want to magnify the feeling of the jockey riding the horse running full speed forward to the finish line.To capture the peaceful and magnificent view of the rich greens of fields of Valentia Island slowly rolling out into the Atlantic Sea. A Portrait inspired by a scene from Marie Antoinette film.
