Artwork Description

This artwork embraces a warm coral, peach palette and golden tones against the cooler blues of the swimsuit. It's atmospheric and draws upon my love of nostalgia and connection to the coast, in this case the pool. I wanted to create an artwork that had a tremendous sense of movement and freedom for all to enjoy. It' calming and uplifting, and makes viewing a pleasant experience.

Artist Bio

Born and raised on Sydney’s northern beaches, Glenda studied painting at the University of Wollongong, earning her Bachelor of Creative Arts. Her career has woven together roles as a visual artist, teacher, and Art Educator at Arthur Boyd’s Bundanon Trust. She has exhibited widely, with solo and group exhibitions throughout her career, and her paintings are held in private collections across Australia.
In 2020, Glenda and her husband David, himself a graphic designer made a new home on the Sunshine Coast. Her recent work revisits the images and emotions of times past. Centred on the human figure, these paintings explore relationships, memory, and the quiet elegance of mid-century life. Stylish fashions, poised gestures, and atmospheric scenes linger in her frames like moments caught and gently paused, holding both beauty and mystery. At present her artwork is proudly represented by Montville Art Gallery in Montville and Red Hill Art Gallery in Brisbane, Queensland.
