This artwork, surrealist in its nature, creates curiosity and wonder. I have created layers of worlds within worlds, past and present. In the distance lies a hidden colourful world, in our imaginations, far away, a hint of a recognizable landscape. The layers of chinoiserie wallpaper, aged and worn suggests a past time, perhaps hints of home, a sense of place. The iconic magpies are perched on a picture frame gazing outwardly. Time and place, past and present are explored in this artwork.
