Artwork Description

Who isn’t enchanted with the shapes and colours of Australian flora? The shapes, the colours, the textures are all so intricate, so beautiful and inspiring. After the flowers have had their time to shine, the seed pods bring new wonders with colour, shape and textures of their own, along with the promise of new life.

Glenda Markwell has had a passion for art from a young age. She has attended various painting and drawing workshops while pursuing a career in advertising and marketing. Formal education and experience in design principles has complemented her art practices.
Her interest has always been painting and drawing from nature, mostly focused on trees, animals,
and other natural objects. Glenda works in pencil, charcoal, acrylic, pastel, watercolour and, more recently, digital media, but her true passion lies with paint and pencil.
Since 2020, she has been focusing more on her artistic pursuits, pushing personal boundaries,
trying new styles, techniques ,and subjects and entering art competitions.
Glenda is a member of the Royal Queensland Art Society.
