Artwork Description

A visit to Coober Pedy inspired this artwork. Homes are built underground with amazing high 'ventilation holes' carved out of the rock. These ventilation holes allow not only air but also the beautiful blue sky to penetrate into the depths of the home, looking up to these ventilation holes is breathtaking.

Artist Bio

Glenda Markwell has had a passion for art from a young age. She has attended various painting and drawing workshops while pursuing a career in advertising and marketing. Formal education and experience in design principles has complemented her art practices.
Her interest has always been painting and drawing from nature, mostly focused on trees, animals,
and other natural objects. Glenda works in pencil, charcoal, acrylic, pastel, watercolour and, more recently, digital media, but her true passion lies with paint and pencil.
Since 2020, she has been focusing more on her artistic pursuits, pushing personal boundaries,
trying new styles, techniques ,and subjects and entering art competitions.
