Glenda's artistic journey began 40 years ago, with fine china painting, a discipline that sharpened her eye for detail and her steady, patient hand. She went on to win several prizes for this work and spent around a decade producing it commercially — painting commissioned tile panels, hand basins, and friezes that brought her artistry into people's homes in a very personal way.
Alongside her painting, Glenda spent years working in a small boutique designer jewellery store in Brisbane, where she designed one-of-a-kind pieces for client commissions and the store's own collection. It's that same instinct for crafting something truly unique that runs through everything she creates.
A committed student of her craft, Glenda attended eight years of summer school at McGregor Summer School at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, with a focus on life drawing and painting — an experience that deepened her understanding of the human form and remains a lasting influence on her work today.
Glenda has generously shared her skills over the years, teaching both china painting and canvas painting, and she now runs popular paint and sip workshops in her local community — bringing people together through creativity and a good time.
These days, Glenda is retired and living on her country property, where she spends her days doing exactly what she loves most: painting, experimenting, and continuing to refine her craft. Her work centres on a joyful exploration of colour, the human form, and the natural environment, with a particular passion for Australian native flora and fauna. There's a wonderful quality to her paintings — highly detailed yet gently naïve, with an intensity of colour that draws you straight in and doesn't let go.
