Artwork Description

I always have had a interest in the extinct species of birds since colonialism. This Emu was only 90 cm in Height and had lived on the Island for hundreds of years. The main reason for its decline to extinction simply was the colonialists would visit Island for two reasons, water and food. They were hunted for food. By the 1830-1840's they were extinct. They were a lot darker in colour then the mainland Emu's. Their diet consisted of seaweed, grass seeds, and native berries and fruit.
