Oil on stretched canvas, ready to hang.

The intention in this work is to strip bare the facets of the feminine existence within a remote Indigenous and mining town in Australia. The image is blurred and muddied. The concept is blurred and muddied. The figure is deep green to highlight the connection to mother earth but surrounded by deep reds and browns illuminating the deconstruction of the identity as female. The figure is naked and washed. The audience peer into the image, and what emerges is a strong and bold female figure.
