I am always inspired by the natural beauty of Australian land and seascapes and this painting is a depiction of one of Victoria's coastal beauty - the twelve Apostles!

Artist Bio

Gopinath Iyer has been a resident of Australia since 1993. Gopinath worked full time as an IT professional for over 30 years in New Zealand and Australia and retired in 2020.
Gopinath is a visual artist. Gopinath used to draw and paint since childhood. He resumed his painting hobby during Covid lockdown after a long break. He has been mentored in watercolour by Sunil Linus De from India and in oil painting by Judith Van Heeren at the Fitzroy Art studio, Melbourne. In October 2023, Gopinath further enhanced his water colour painting skills at the 3-day workshop by master artist Susan Harrison-Tustain from NZ.
Gopinath is also skilled in the Indian art form of Rangoli – doing murals using sand art.
Since 2021, Gopinath’s works have been featured in exhibitions:
December 2021, 2022 and 2023: Chitrakala Parishath in Bengaluru, India
Track Gallery in Mount Waverley by MONCAS in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
MAVA collective - July and September 2022 and March 2024.
Box Hill Art Group June 2023
Melbourne International Flower and Garden show 2023 and 2024.
Exhibited at the A4 Art Australia exhibition in Herring Island, Melbourne in 2023 and 2024.
Gopinath had an exhibition of his paintings as part of New Horizons in October 2022, an exhibition he partnered with his brother, another visual artist from Melbourne.
Gopinath has been an active contributor to the Indian Classical music scene in Australia, performing on the veena (a stringed Indian musical instrument), teaching and organising Indian classical music concerts in Melbourne.
