About

My work focuses on figurative and nature themes with a mixture of reality and imagination.
In my art I try to create a compelling visual experience in its own right, rather than to present a comment, information or to illustrate an idea. Such approach allows me to leave some space for the viewer - and stimulate their imagination to create their own impressions triggered by my paintings.
My works are mostly done on stretched canvas but sometimes I also like to experiment with paper.
Over the years I have experimented with many materials and now I have settled for mixed media. It’s intriguing and challenging to find that sweet spot of just the right blend of colours and other elements of composition to complement each other.
Colour always plays major role in my works. It helps to create that desired overall mood of the painting inviting a feeling or reflection I’d like to invoke in the viewer. Words by Georgia O’Keeffe describe it quite accurately for me: “I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn't say any other way... things I had no words for.”
