Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
BeBop has been inspired by the artist Mondrian, and jazz music. I've been listening to a lot of jazz music, and love the free form tempos and improvised structure. I wanted to combine the "de stijl" concept with a loose rhythmic style. On my other Mondrian de stijl paintings I have focused on a high level of neatness and accuracy. This piece though is just a little less accurate, and is intended to reflect the freedom of the jazz music which inspired it.
BeBop was born.
BeBop is painted on a 90cm X 75cm quality 12oz Eraldo canvas. I have used artist-grade acrylic paints, I have signed the front of the artwork, and finished it off with several layers of satin finish. The satin finish protects the painting, and also enhances the colours, but without adding too much gloss, as I wanted a somewhat muted finish.
I may be biased, but it really does look amazing.
