Perinkah is a minimalist abstract expressionist artwork in my Liminal series
The Liminal series is typified by an absolute minimalist style, where the composition and colour palette is used with intense deliberation considered design and careful execution.
The inspiration and themes touched on in the Liminal series are emotions and interaction.
Perinkah appears to be a landscape, seascape, or riverscape. Either way and perhaps despite the bold colour palette, it exudes calm.
I have subtly signed the painting on the front and finished it off with several layers of matte varnish to highlight the colours, and protect the painting.
I use matte varnish throughout the Liminal series as I believe it adds to the gentle and calming nature of the artwork.
Perinkah has been painted with high-quality pigment-rich acrylic paints on custom-made artist-grade 90cm x 120cm Victorian Ash stretchers on 100% Belle Arti 68U linen (very high quality). The above photos present Perinkah in home settings, though it would work equally well in an office environment.
