Wow! Look at this one. Resonar is the latest piece in my Liminal series journey. Inspired by music, and sound waves it really has translated to music as colour. Another statement piece for sure.
The Liminal series is themed on minimalist abstract works which relate to feelings, emotions, and actions. Listing to music fits that brief, and here is the result.
I must admit while I was painting Resonar I left it standing in portrait mode, and loved the way it looked “sideways”, but as the original concept was of a sound decaying it needed to remain in landscape mode. But the portrait orientation does give me new ideas.. Watch this space.
The painting has been continued over onto the sides which means it does not need to be framed. I have signed the painting and finished it off with several layers of matte varnish coat to highlight the colours, and protect the painting. Resonar has been painted on artist-grade 90cm x 120cm stretchers on Belle Arti 35u linen canvas.
