Artwork Description

"Transit" is a homage to the great Franz Kline. The painting features numerous layers of black and white paint. While the style may appear simple at first glance, if you take a closer look you will notice that each of the layers has an overlapping effect. The white is not so much a negative space, and the black is not necessarily a frame. Instead, they are complementary - the white exists to support the black and the black exists to complement the white. The beauty is in the perceived simplicity.
Being a larger canvas, and with such bold structural lines, this painting will certainly make an impact. The use of neutral colours also means the painting will fit into any environment and work with any decor.
The painting has a matte finish so as to highlight the various black paints that have been used in the design. It is signed, with painted edges, and is ready to hang.
Note the images showing the painting mounted on the wall are for illustration purposes only. The correct measurements are provided below. A handy way of determining just how this sized painting will work in your space is to use blue tack dots or masking tape on your wall to plot out the border of the painting. This method gives you a realistic impression of how the painting will fit on your wall
