Many decades ago I watched a mini documentary on Australian telivision about a university graduate who used to drive out of the big smoke on the weekend to catch fish in the surf. Single handedly he would unravel a net behind him in waves up to his shoulders. Upon completing this he backtracked pulling the net in behind him. He caught scores of large fish this way. Having completed this he returned to the big city fish markets several hours away and received a handsome reward for his labours. Every now and then I wonder if this has to be the most idyllic life style that could be achieved in great southern continent.
