Artwork Description

Mixed Media on paper

Signed on the front.

In this piece, I passionately capture the raw intensity and dynamic movement of a rugby match. Using oil, charcoal, and oil pastel on paper, I blend expressionism with figurative and symbolic elements to emphasize the struggle and unity in the game. The vintage style enhances the timeless nature of sport, conveying a narrative of human effort and camaraderie. This artwork will bring a wave of energy and a touch of nostalgic spirit into any home. It is a whimsical look at contact sport focusing on group dynamics and groupthink based on memories of sports involvement in my youth.

This is a romanticised view of wildlife in a natural setting. I have been focusing in my studio on interpreting experiences from my own life and my ancestors' social histories in utilizing traditional oil painting techniques. I am particularly interested in Baroque, C18th and C19th Realism and Romanticism. This art interest overlaps with my interest in Ancestral and Social History. Cool colour composition . Atmospheric picture space using aerial perpsective. Wildlife in fringe suburb wilderness. Subjective interpretation of living near wilderness. Intensified emotional response to subject. Exaggerated colour Realistic interpretation of accumulated cultural memories associated with a place. Metaphysical quality of vacant city streets.
