My interest in photography was formed during my childhood. A nana that always had a camera in her hand taking photos of flowers, places we visited and us. My grandma had a box brownie in the toy box. Seeing the image in the little rectangle screen provided hours of pleasure wandering her garden pretending to take photos. A period of using film and doing my own black and white developing and printing followed in my youth. The arrival of the digital camera re-ignited my interest. I love being out in nature making images of the landscape, the flowers and the wildlife. Living in the Blue Mountains world heritage area west of Sydney, I am surrounded by natural beauty to capture. When travelling further afield, I look for images to create and add to my portfolio.
I am an accredited professional photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers. My journey in the AIPP has seen me win many silver and silver distinction awards along with the Epson 2017 AIPP NSW Emerging Photographer of the Year award. Entering the awards at both state and national (APPA) levels has developed my skills in making and delivering professional level imagery. Professionally, I cover events and focus in the commercial area with some portraiture. Printing for others is also one of my activities. Many APPA award winning prints have been produced by my workflow and printers.
In my home studio, I process and print all of my imagery up to A2 size - typically on beautiful Canson fine art papers with archival quality inks. I have a colour printer and a printer dedicated to black and white printing - I enjoy printing!
I hope you find my imagery inspiring, telling a story about the place, flower or animal depicted. Thank you for visiting my area on BlueThumb.
