Oil, Canvas, Ready to hang
106cm (W) x 106cm (H) x 4cm (D)
Latest work of storm clouds forming over the Rosebud foreshore. There is some smoke haze from the East Gippsland and French Island fires and at 4.30 pm in the afternoon with high temperatures the beach was very quiet and still. I love the colours in the sky and wanted this to be a major part of the work.
Greg Sage’s landscapes are rich in colour and beautifully detailed. Each work takes months to complete, every one is unique and based on direct observation or photographs that he has taken. There is something meditative when viewing his work, of a place and time that will never be repeated showing the transient nature of our place. Greg Sage has a studio on the Mornington Peninsula and his work reflects his love of this landscape and of his travels.
