This painting was inspired by a moment on a friend’s farm, sitting beside a small pond as the sun dropped low. The last light picked up the colours in the water and the plants beneath it, while a few ducks moved through the surface, leaving soft, shifting patterns behind them. It was a simple scene that held calm, a touch of melancholy, and a quiet sense of joy — all at the same time.”
I ran lines of glue vertically and horizontally to create a sort of mesh, almost like the surface tention of water. The gold foil was the setting sun and I moved a variety of green mica powders accross thge canvas, adheering to the still slightly tacky glue.
