Experience the rugged and majestic landscape of Back Creek, in the Upper Burnett, Queensland. The sweeping cliffs rise up from the textures of the wild terrain. This is an oil on canvas, finished with white edges that are intentionally left with paint spills to add to the natural energy of the scene. Artist Bio
The nickname was first used by my uncle when I was a youth. The years of that young stockman and dozer driver are now a distant memory.
I was born in country Queensland and spent my early childhood on a cattle property situated along the Nogo River. As a five-year-old, I would go out into the paddocks with my father and I've felt a strong connection to that landscape ever since.
I'm a mainly self taught artist and I work in oils on canvas. I got my first set of oils at age nine and immediately did a painting of the big gum tree at the front of the house. I now continue to paint as 'Greybeard' that harsh country that is so familiar to me.
