Boogalgopal Creek

This is inspired by the landscape along the Nogo River, in the upper Burnett region of Queensland. It is an oil on canvas, finished with white edges that are intentionally left with paint spills to add to the visual impact of the piece. It is signed and varnished and will bring a sense of adventure and enrich your home with the alluring charm of the Australian outback.

The nickname was first used by my uncle when I was a youth. The years of that young stockman and dozer driver are now a distant memory.

I was born in country Queensland and spent my early childhood on a cattle property situated along the Nogo River. I now paint as ‘Greybeard,’ exploring that harsh country that is so familiar to me. The sands of the Nogo and the black ironbarks of the surrounding expanse carry a strong sense of place and personal identity.
