This is a painting which shows the grazing country along the Nogo River in the upper Burnett, Queensland. It is an oil on canvas, finished with white edges and a gloss varnish, will be signed and ready to hang.
The nickname was first used by my uncle when I was a youth. The years of that young stockman and dozer driver are now a distant memory.
I was born in country Queensland and spent my early childhood on a cattle property situated along the Nogo River. I now paint as ‘Greybeard,’ exploring that harsh country that is so familiar to me. The sands of the Nogo and the black ironbarks of the surrounding expanse carry a strong sense of place and personal identity.
