My name is Hadyn Kiesey and I live in Perth Western Australia. I sign off my paintings with my middle name "Stafford"
I am self taught. I have been pencil drawing since I was a youngster. I started watercolour painting about 20 years ago and love this medium for my work.
The main early influences on my work have been: Jack McDonogh from the Mitchell College of Advanced Education in Bathurst; Welsh artist Alwyn Crawshaw; Melbourne based artist Malcolm Beattie and: Queensland based artist John Lovett. I have studied the work of these artists in great detail and each has had a big impact on the way I draw and paint.
In more recent times I am now part of a global fraternity of artists posting their work on Instagram and we all learn from each other and grow our skills.
My favourite subjects are architectural - I love old stones and the stories they tell. I also love to paint old machines - trams, aircraft, ships, vehicles, tractors, etc and the stories they tell. A lot of our heritage and history surrounds us in the things we see and I try to make my paintings tell a little of their story.
Besides Bluethumb I also have a gallery on Ebay under the name of "Hadyn and Marilyn's Paintings. I am currently developing my own art web site for my wife and I (I should say I am letting others help me to develop the site and I pretend that I know what I am doing!!). I have sold many paintings to people all over Australia and overseas. I do work on commission for people that have seen or bought my work. In 2017 I won the Pemberton Art Group Art Award.
My wife Marilyn is also an artist. She chooses oils as a painting medium and her favourite subjects are seascapes and landscapes. Her work also sells Australia wide and internationally.
So, we offer quality watercolour and oil paintings. Buy our work for yourself or as a special gift. Please add us to your list of favourite sellers and visit often.
