In seeing a dog near the edge of Lane Cover river was inspired to paint it surfing on Sydney Harbour.
Hae-Lyun Kang is a Korean born, Australian raised writer, artist and author living in Sydney from 1970. She was born in Seoul in 1968 and has a BA from Western Sydney University. She is part of the art class held in the pottery room at Gladesville Hospital run by Neville Dawson and Margaret Westcott. Hae-Lyun did 10 weeks of study at the Chase School of Graphic Design in 1995 and did tutoring and ESL teaching before turning to writing and painting. Hae-Lyun has spent a year in Japan and South Korea and also is the sister of the man who shot at Prince Charles and as a result has an interest in the themes of the bizarre and the dysfunctional and of how life doesn’t always go to plan.
