This work is part of a series of 24 small paper works titled 'Paintings from the living room floor' presented at Brunswick Street Gallery as a solo exhibition in June 2023. This series considers themes of relocation, connection and growing familiar within one’s surroundings. Having recently moved cities, from her parent’s house into a home of her own, this series documents a period of transition for the artist, settling into spaces unfamiliar, foreign, and sometimes lonely. Painting while sitting on the floor of the living room has become a way of navigating this uncertainty, the series documenting an emotional journey of finding connection and belonging in a new home.
