Artwork Description

Artist Bio

Born in The Netherlands and migrated to Australia aged two in 1955. Arrived in Dandenong and went on to study art at Prahran Institute and Gordon Institute graduating in 1976 with Diploma of fine art. Helped establish Finnigans art gallery in Ocean Grove and also Brim Brim art gallery in Queenscliffe.
My inspiration comes from my love of music hence an exhibition of twelve portraits of Kieth Richards. I work mainly in acrylics on canvas.
More recently my subjects have come from my travells in countries such as India and the USA.
I am at present working on paintings I call Wordscapes which are large brightly coloured acrylic compositions featuring words as lanscape with a lyrical rather than literal interpretation.
I have also recently produced a series of drawings featuring the wild architecture of Cambodia at Angkor Wat.
