I've been an artist for 40 years. I started when I was 18 years old learning pottery and stained glass in a studio in NZ.
I moved to Australia in 1996 and began playing with acrylics and paper mache forms.
In 2007 I took lessons in pastel and eventually began producing landscapes from Northern NSW region. I also experimented with spiritual pastels including angels and spirit beings. I was able to channel messages as I worked.
In 2019 I took lessons in watercolours and have been producing buildings (houses and churches) and also landscapes.
In 2021 I taught myself lino printing (my father was a wood carver so I think this came naturally to me) and after playing with different images began producing works of nature and in particular, birds.
Lino cut has become my favourite art style, I enjoy the meditative process of carving, then rolling the ink onto the block to create this wonderful image. It's always a fun surprise to see them materialise in front of my eyes.
Thank you for reading my bio.
