I was born in Manchester, England, and migrated to Australia in 1964 with my parents. This significant relocation brought us to a breathtaking place called Exmouth in Western Australia. Nestled along the coast, Exmouth boasted picturesque turquoise beaches that stretched out into the distance, showcasing their natural allure. The soft sands tickled our feet as we explored its pristine shores, and the rugged countryside that enveloped the area captivated us with its untamed beauty. It was in this idyllic setting that my journey began, shaping my perception of the world and instilling within me a deep appreciation for nature's wonders. As I reflect on my past, I am reminded of the rich tapestry of experiences and memories that have contributed to shaping who I am today.
Throughout my journey, art has played a significant role, and my early interest in this creative realm was deeply cultivated by a remarkable art teacher. This influential mentor recognised my potential and encouraged me to explore various art subjects, laying the foundation for my artistic development. As I embarked on this path, I found myself drawn to the captivating beauty of land and seascapes, which quickly became my main themes. Through my artwork, I sought to capture the essence of the outdoors and convey my profound love for it. Each stroke of my brush and every carefully curated colour palette became a manifestation of my adventurous spirit. By immersing myself in the natural world and translating its majesty onto the canvas, I discovered a profound sense of fulfilment and purpose. The art I create embodies not only the picturesque landscapes and seascapes, but also the intangible emotions and experiences that shape who I am as an individual, and sharing times with close friends and family has created memories that will last a lifetime.
Throughout my career, I have been blessed with several awards, acknowledging my hard work and dedication to my craft. While I have never considered myself an art teacher, it brings me immense joy to have played a role in guiding and supporting others as they strive to achieve their own artistic aspirations. Witnessing the growth and success of those I have had the privilege of mentoring has been incredibly fulfilling, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their artistic journeys.
