Artwork Description

Butterflies is a dynamic contemporary abstract painting that captures the tension between chaos and calm, movement and stillness. Set against a deep black background, energetic splashes and fine dripped lines of white, teal, blush, yellow and coral collide in a rhythmic, almost musical composition. The layered paint work creates a sense of motion and depth, inviting the viewer to explore the surface again and again.

Scattered throughout the work, delicately detailed butterflies emerge from the abstraction. They act as quiet moments of focus within the expressive energy, symbolising transformation, resilience and beauty found within disorder. Their presence softens the intensity of the splatter technique, creating a powerful contrast between control and spontaneity.

The artwork reflects themes of freedom, evolution and interconnectedness — much like thoughts, emotions or life paths crossing and diverging. Each drip and splatter feels instinctive and unrepeatable, making the piece truly one of a kind.

Butterflies is a statement artwork that brings vibrancy and meaning to modern interiors. It works beautifully in contemporary living spaces, creative studios or gallery walls, offering both visual impact from afar and intricate detail up close.

This piece celebrates movement, transformation and the beauty of letting go.
