Hayley has painted with acrylic on canvas since high school and dabbled in visual arts at the University of South Australia. She paints to celebrate the magnificent aspects of life with paintings of the living environment, breathtaking vistas and stunning scenery. She has exhibited widely throughout South Australia, with some learning and an exhibition in Ho Chi Minh in 2019. Her overall themes surround art in health and explore the artistโs style and desire to learn and evolve, aiming to bring beauty and joy to those who view it. Bright colours and peaceful scenes are the standout facets, with each piece aiming to tell a story to the viewer with feelings of rejuvenation, energy, peace, calmness, or excitement in turn with the piece.
Her artwork is made mostly for herself. She creates as a form of meditation, and to release feelings and stress formed with her work in health and aged care. She loves thick paint and beautiful colours because of the feelings generated during the strokes on the canvas. It soothes her to paint and when finished she generally loves what she has achieved, and feels a lift of spirit and calmness that is replenished each time she views it, which she believes can also help others. The creation and the viewing of art can slow the heart rate, relax the muscles, and particular colours can change the mood of people around it.
Notable exhibitions include the Centre for Creative Health at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, the Royal Adelaide Show, Bremerton Winery, South Australian Living Artists exhibitions and Ham Long Art Village, Vietnam exhibitions.
