In 2014, Undercoat curated works that represent the Melbourne seasons illustrating the local creative life and Melbourneโs overall creative influence globally.
By exploring Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, Undercoat investigated how artistic endeavours change over the course of the year and how they are affected by the seasons. The contributors to this exhibition were from many walks of life, including photographers, writers, illustrators, scientists and filmmakers.
My main niche with the art that I create is portraiture, so I decided to create four faces that represent each season. I have often used my own face when I paint my faces, which I did with 2 of these paintings for this series.
These works can also be viewed at SARDI, 111 Church Street, Hawthorne, Melbourne.
