Hayley is an artist living on the Mid North Coast of NSW. She holds a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts majoring in Photography from the Australian National University, School of Art. During her degree she studied for a semester at the Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland.
Hayley grew up with artistic parents and discovered her love of art quite young, experimenting with photography, sculpture, painting and drawing. It has been in recent years that she has pursued being a full time artist with her contemporary paintings. Her subjects vary between abstract landscape and work of a more figurative nature, referencing various historical artists.
For two years Hayley worked as a studio assistant for Papunya Tula Artists Pty. Ltd. She lived between two communities, Kintore, NT and Kiwirrkurra, WA. There she worked alongside many notable Indigenous artists including Yukultji Napangati, Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri, Mantua Nangala and George Tjungurrayi. This experience re-ignited her creative passion towards painting.
Hayley held her first solo exhibition 'Kiss the Dirt' at the Narooma School of Art Gallery in 2021. She has exhibited in several award exhibitions including being a finalist in the Olive Cotton Photographic Award, Muswellbrook Photographic Prize, semi finalist in the Doug Moran Photographic Prize and winner of the 9 x 5 Waverley Woolarah Landscape Prize in 2018.
