Artwork Description

Inspired by my love of all things classical, mythological and Italian I created a modern Trinacrina.

La Trinacrina (sometimes called the Triskelion) is the three-legged symbol of Sicily. Inspired by bold colours and traditional tattoo art this piece is painted using specialist ceramic paint on a reclaimed ceramic platter.

This one of a kind piece has been hand-painted in a traditional lapis blue ceramic paint with gold highlights including a laurel leaf border. It's a solid traditional round platter with a diameter of 34cms and a depth of 2.5cms and is best enjoyed as an artwork rather than serving ware.

Although the paint has been heated and cured the plate should be gently hand-washed so its colours stay vibrant. It should be hung or displayed using a large plate bracket with padded hoods.

This item has been hand-painted so features different textures and unique variations.
